As a painter I work in oil, acrylic, watercolor and collage and deal with artistic printing techniques.
Key points of my work are motherhood, femininity and being human. I ask myself, can one consciously change or even give up one's identity? What is it that constitutes identity? With my art I want to explore and blur boundaries.
Motherhood/fatherhood are a playground of ambivalent feelings and associations. Care work, breastfeeding and intimacy join violence, power relations and taboos. The view of babies or children is always that of an adult. If I deal with the socialization of roles, I have to look into the beginnings, where imprinting happens.
